The Storm

A giant storm came through this morning. On the radio I heard of a tornado in Bee Cave! I got out with the DV cam between two downpours. There's tons of water crashing everywhere. Video below:

Thanks for the bit of cinema verite, Hugh. That's a nice, fat ring-tail lemur you have. Which creeks were you filming? Do you know if the HPR bridge at the river is closed? Think it will be open by Saturday noon? Except for extrapolating from the data on the USGS website for Johnson City, I don't know how to get info about the bridge condition without driving there. If it's closed, I have to turn around and go back to Dripping and go all the way around to Johnson City and come back through Cypress Mill. Please let me know if you have any info.
Thanks.

Those are unnamed headwaters that eventually become Bee Creek. They run north from HPR toward 71. Good question about Hammet's crossing.

Travis County Emergency Conditions Information today is showing Hammet's crossing closed as of Mar 26! It's not still closed, is it? Anyway, that would be a good URL to put in your web phone if you have one.
