Gang on the Run
It's impossible to believe the Gang of Eight, a.k.a. LTISD Board, will be able to overcome the profoundly negative reaction. In today's Austin American Statesman article, not one of the Gang was available for a quote. The sum total of statements from the district was:
A spokeswoman for the school district said it has not yet pursued a court order to gain access to the property and hopes to avoid it. The district is considering other sites but would not disclose them.
Do you sense a little backpedalling? The district darn well better be considering other sites -- and it better be planning to buy them on the open market. There are plenty of willing sellers.
I wouldn't put anything past this bunch. They don't have much regard for logic or common sense. They would rather try to destroy anyone who gets in their way - David Lovelace, for example. A smear campaign against the Grumbles is entirely possible.
I do sense a gathering revulsion.Being a romantic, I'm cynical.
But, in general and off topic, noting the huge negative reaction to the toll roads and other similar agendas I sense people are itching for a backlash. Now while a backlash connotes excesses I'm in no mood at this point to dissuade anyone. Let's Roll.
Here is a thought: perhaps the students have something to say about this. Perhaps they will. Anyone have a student who has activist proclivities?
Dont be fooled by the school. They may seem to be silenced but Steve Adler(Their emminate domain attorny) is very good at what he does even if he does work on both sides of the fence in comdemnation proceedings. I am sure that they are preparing a very well thought out way of "taking" the land they think they need to keep up with the "Jones's". Dont forget that the new school will need a new sewer plant which I am sure that LCRA will be glad to take some more land to build for the new developments.
